When was the last time you visited a Gucci boutique? Have you noticed anything about the interior design of their floors? Rather than the well-known monochrome hand-tufted carpets, real oriental carpets have been making their way into the stores in recent times.

Traditional Oriental Carpets in Boutique Retail
The presentation with oriental carpets is much more complicated than with monochrome hand-tufted carpets, but the right classic oriental carpet can perfectly underline the individuality of the interior design and the brand image.
In 2016, Alessandro Michele demonstrated to us at the Gucci store in Tokyo how classic oriental carpets can be perfectly integrated into the interior design of luxury boutiques.
Alongside Gucci, brands such as Givenchy, Diesel, and Ralph Lauren are integrating Oriental carpets into their stores as well. Each label individually chooses its own pattern, color scheme and finish, which must perfectly match the brand image and withstand heavy wear and tear.
The provenance of Oriental carpets determines the pattern and color. Taebriz, Keschan, Bidjar or Sarough for example, are popular and suitable.
Oriental Carpets in Hospitality
This year, Architectural Digest awarded the lobby of The Bowery Hotel in New York first place among the 20 best hotel lobbies around the world.
Here too, traditional Keshan carpets and hand-picked antique furniture underscore the hotel's individual and inviting character.
Contemporary Interpretation
Old and antique oriental carpets have an extraordinary charm, but the specification in the project is not easy, due to the traditional use of intense colors and the need to find the desired carpet in the right size.
Another alternative is hand-knotted new goods in vintage look. Specifications according to pattern, color, and size are easily possible.

Quand avez-vous visité une boutique Gucci pour la dernière fois ? Vous n'avez rien remarqué à propos de l'aménagement intérieur sur le sol ? Au lieu des fameux tapis monochromes tuftés à la main, de véritables tapis d'Orient sont de plus en plus utilisés dans les magasins ces derniers temps.
Tapis orientaux traditionnels en boutique
La mise en scène avec des tapis d'Orient traditionnels est beaucoup plus difficile qu'avec des tapis monochromes tuftés à la main, mais le tapis d'Orient classique assorti peut parfaitement souligner l'individualité du design intérieur et de l'image de la marque.
Dans la boutique Gucci de Tokyo Alessandro Michele nous a d´ores et déjà montré en 2016 comment parfaitement intégrer les tapis d'Orient classiques dans le design intérieur des boutiques de luxe.
Outre Gucci, des marques telles que Givenchy, Diesel et Ralph Lauren intègrent également des tapis orientaux dans leurs magasins. Chaque marque suit son propre chemin avec le choix du motif, de la couleur et de la finition, qui correspondent parfaitement à leur image et doivent résister aux exigences élevées du magasin.
Dans le cas des tapis orientaux, leur provenance détermine le motif et la couleur. Taebriz, Keschan, Bidjar ou Sarough, par exemple, sont populaires et adaptés.
Tapis d'Orient traditionnels dans l'hôtellerie
Cette année le Hall d'entrée du Bowery Hotel de New York s'est vu décerner, par Architectural Digestist, la première place parmi les 20 meilleurs lobbies d'hôtel au monde.
Ici aussi, les tapis traditionnels de Keschan et les meubles anciens triés sur le volet soulignent le caractère individuel et accueillant de l'hôtel.
Interprétation contemporaine
Les tapis orientaux anciens et antiques ont un charme très particulier, mais la spécification dans un projet n'est pas vraiment facile, car traditionnellement on utilisait des couleurs assez fortes et il faut trouver le tapis désiré dans la taille appropriée.
En alternative il est possible d'utiliser de nouveau tapis noués à la mains dans un aspect vintage. Une spécification en fonction du motif, de la couleur et de la taille est relativement simple à réaliser.
