With its location in the middle of the Maspalomas Dunes nature reserve on the south coast of Gran Canaria, the Lopesan Resort offers a spectacular backdrop and luxurious comfort for discerning holidaymakers. Here, the soft shimmer of our DUNE MAX Viscose brings the sparkle of the sea right into the lobby, emphasising the elegant character of the hotel.The modern interior design of the Lopesan Resort is also complemented by a selection of various models from our MASHUP range.

Several kymo rugs from THE LOFT range provide the elegant feel-good factor in the townhouse in the Nordic metropolis of Oslo, known for its design flair.

Helsinki's central library opened in December 2018 and carries the poetic name “Oodi” (“ode”). The impressive construction is located in the heart of the city at the Kansalaistori Square opposite of the Finnish Parliament. The carpets in the central library are accessible works of art that were designed in cooperation of Finnish designers with Koolmat Finland and produced by kymo's custom built service.

Vitra is certainly the best-known brand in Europe when it comes to perfect furniture design. But along the way, it has also taken up the cause of designing contemporary and transforming living and working spaces. In keeping with the radically changed work culture brought about by the pandemic, Vitra 2021 is presenting its "Club Office" concept. At their main location in Birsfelden, Switzerland, this concept was of course first implemented in their own premises. For the special walking feeling, kymo carpets were used in some places for this purpose, which at the same time provide a pleasant atmosphere.

The construction industry is booming in all parts of Europe. For example in Hungary, where Cordia, the biggest building company in the private sector, recently splashed out on new (and suitably situated) headquarters in Budapest. Naturally, it acts as a role model for many a well-heeled customer.Floorwear produced by kymo was used in a number of areas in the building, sometimes as a visual link between sections, sometimes as a separator. Each item was individually made and carefully crafted by hand. From wall-to-wall carpets in the conference room to the composed and coordinated look in the waiting area – creating exactly the desired impression on every front.

The German kitchen manufacturer LEICHT opened the doors to its new showroom in the quaint town of Waldstetten in 2014. The showroom rightly deserves its name, with some decidedly stylish examples of kitchens and living rooms. One highlight that is particularly worth mentioning is the way the colours have been mixed and matched. This is nothing short of inspirational, whether the kymo carpets are there to subtly blend in with their surroundings or they’ve been used to play up the colour and atmosphere. When everything is put together, it’s spot on.

This expansive villa – featuring nothing less than an infinity pool and an uninterrupted view of the wild Texan countryside – is a feast for the eyes. The company that designed the interiors, Scott & Cooner from Austin, also clearly has an instinct for bringing out the best in a property of perfect proportions. How fitting that they felt it simply had to include carpets from kymo. To underscore the elementary elegance of the seating area in the living room, they plumped for a Studio NYC Pure. Opposite, before the fireplace, lies THE MASHUP Concept Edition, providing a unifying element to marry sophisticated rustic cosiness with the panache of modernity.

The Art’otel, which lies in Amsterdam’s city centre, pays homage to the seamless interplay between art, design and lifestyle. The designers and architects paid extremely close attention to the style and look of all fittings so when it came to the carpets they plumped for kymo. Four huge versions of THE MASHUP Concept Edition were specially made for the hotel – a perfect complement to its award-winning design.

This wonderful cooperation between Norway’s best interior designers from iark and kymo’s very own design mastermind Eva Langhans has been initiated by the Norwegian Oil Company DNO. For the interior furnishing of the DNO headquarters in Oslo, iark used THE MASHUP Pure Editions and a very special THE MASHUP Collectors Edition. The latter was hailed by prior teamwork between Eva and iark. Explicitly customized to fit the bill, this rug perfectly integrates into the environment, capturing colors and forms and shows, once more, why kymo’s MASHUP series is more topical than ever.

For this fascinating project, we found ourselves in the recording studio of the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. It’s here that exquisite music is recorded before being polished to perfection for posterity. It’s here that every minute detail matters. It’s here that all acoustics have to be as clean as a whistle. Like many carpets crafted by kymo, Studio NYC Raw Wool has a SUPERSONIC acoustic felt backing and an exceedingly thick pile. Together, this produces superb acoustic qualities: the carpet virtually swallows sound rather than allow unwanted noise to reverberate. And because our floorwear looks as good as it behaves and it was also important to create the right visual impact, it was hardly surprising that the Swedes at the opera selected kymo. The recording studio now sports Studio NYC Raw Wool from wall to wall.

ESCADA stands for luxury. And high-end fashion... presented in exquisitely styled stores. All over the world. And because, you guessed it, kymo is on exactly the same wavelength when it comes to trendsetting on the international stage, cooperating with the apparel brand works like a dream. We recently fitted the hundredth Escada store with kymo floorwear. Yup, that’s the way we like it...

‘Made in Germany’ is a symbol of quality, the epitome of durability and reliability. There are few companies this could apply to more than the traditional kitchen company Warendorf. But just because it’s traditional doesn’t mean it’s covered in cobwebs. Far from it. Its brand bears all the right hallmarks: contemporary aesthetics, unobtrusive composition and neat designs. This is most certainly a brand of modern times. Befitting its image, a leaf was taken out of kymo’s own traditional range for the company’s showroom in Berlin: THE MASHUP Pure Edition.

As the biggest insurance company in Europe, the Allianz Group needs no introduction. But it now owns something that is worth an introduction: its new headquarters at Allianz Suisse. A new office environment was created for the building, with a design and architecture that was specially conceived to make it easier for people to concentrate, communicate and unwind. In the lobby area there is now also a kymo Studio NYC Polyester Edition carpet, exemplifying in perfect fashion how to ‘partition’ an open space.

The owners of this private villa in Canada call their house a work of art. Indeed, this is the best compliment the clients could pay to the designer of the house, Rick Shean. The lounge area bears the unique kymo hallmark of THE MASHUP Concept Edition. This is an outstanding choice in every aspect as it marries materials of tradition with modernity. Rather than inserting itself compliantly into the setting, the carpet plays to the surrounding hues, thus attentively emphasising the overall context of the colour scheme.

Benetti, an Italian producer of luxury yachts, recently welcomed a new mega-yacht to the fold: the Panthera. Not a fraction of a fathom off the course of qualità and stile, naturally the Panthera delivered exactly what it was expected to: one superlative after another. A particular highlight for us below deck was the SG Airy Premium Low Cut, which covered all cabins and saloon areas in the perfectly appropriate Wild Dove colour option. What a feast for the eyes – a dynamite mixture of cosy comfort and fashion fatale.

Daniel Swarovski founded his company over a century ago. To this day, the Swarovski name is the epitome of premium quality jewellery, exquisite crystals and fine workmanship. Naturally, the only option for the interior of the Swarovski HQ in London was carefully selected designer furnishing and fine fittings. These included two kymo Studio NYC Pearl Edition carpets, not only to reflect the form of the furniture, but also to mirror the glamour of the crystal lampshades suspended from the ceiling. The ideal choice. Perfection.

The magnificent designers from the Staffan Tollgård Design Group (London) used 2 Studio NYC Classic Edition rugs in this penthouse flat, designed with an assured sense of style and lovingly down to the tiniest detail. Originally from Sweden, Staffan Tollgård, who we also got to know personally on a recent trip to London, isn't just an extremely pleasant and likeable fellow, but also considered one of the top interior designers in the United Kingdom at the moment.

One of the first luxury fashion brands that chose kymo to furnish their flagship stores was the swiss manufacturer Navyboot. As part of its latest retrofitting, Navyboot’s Zurich store was the first to be custom-fitted with Studio NYC Classic Edition carpeting, rounding off the new splendour of the urban sales space. Distinguished, minimal, contemporary – Studio NYC underlines the core values of the store’s new image.

A breathtaking Caribbean beach, high life and partying. In the autumn of 2017, the multi-million dollar hotel development of star designer Karim Rashid was opened with an official ceremony. The resort is an extravagant travel destination with that special look and the service to go with it. Our customisable carpet, THE ATELIER, added individual carpet creations to the location, working in perfect harmony with Rashid’s design concept of ‘sensual minimalism’. Whether you awake in one of the 430 superlative rooms or simply saunter through the lobby, in every corner you’re met by kymo floorwear with its organic trim and candy-coloured caramba. Everything was designed specially for its immediate surroundings. A location you can’t afford to miss!

The interior designers at DZINE deliberately opted for a bright version of our Liquid Funk carpet, reflecting the modern art on the walls in inimitable style. It’s like a work of art on the floor in the middle of the room, capturing every ounce of daylight in the open hillside villa with its highlights in shimmering viscose. The matte section is a perfect match with the furniture selected for its surroundings. The bright colours are also a reflection of the residence’s surroundings outdoors, a reminder to cast the eye through the ceiling-high window and wander in one’s mind across the bay of San Francisco.

Wohnidee designed two exclusive suites for Radisson Blu in Frankfurt. They used kymo carpets in both of the contrary themes. The suite is dominated by pastel shades and dainty furniture. Its light atmosphere is completed by high pile rugs. The second suite has a mid-century flair. Warm wood elements and brass lamps break up its dark colours. Different materials provide an interesting haptic experience. Here two pieces from our wool range are the perfect complement.

Visitors to the Park Plaza hotel experience customised carpet underfoot. Design office Digital Space returned to kymo’s flexible product-customisation to create a high-quality design identity for the London hotel chain.

The challenge here was to bring a classic beach residence in line with modern times without smothering its historical charm – which Sandra Cavallo achieved on one of the most beautiful coastlines in America. The old villa in Cape Cod captivates with clarity and brightness. At the heart of the living room, which offers a view of the Atlantic Ocean, lies a large woollen carpet made by kymo. The simple handwoven pattern in natural colours graciously underscores the lifestyle on the doorstep to the sea, a sense that also radiates from every unique piece of furniture.

This apartment serves as a second home for the owner during busy workweeks, when commuting home takes too much time. Therefore she wanted an interior makeover without any construction works involved. The architect Shanaz Razik achieved this warm new look by using the soft textures of the kymo Nordic Plain carpet and wallpaper alongside minimalistic furniture with a pastel colour palette. This way the minimalistic chic is softened and turned into a homely space exuding Skandinavian serenity.

Fitted by DZINE and surrounded by the glorious landscapes of Hillsborough stands a villa that can only be described as a total hit. By marrying modern Italian design with abstract art, the eye is enticed to explore the hills of California as they expand before the floor-to-ceiling bedroom window. Our Rare Soul Premium leather carpet in a soft grey offers a natural covering underfoot for an extra touch of well-being.

A trade fair stand is such an important place because it’s where people meet up and get to know one another. It’s here everything comes together – the team from kymo, our esteemed partners, our customers, new and existing collections, novel ideas and plans we’ve been lovingly pursuing for many a month or year. We find it important that such meetings take place in the right atmosphere. As a result, we try to make our stand at the imm in Cologne something special. Every year. Which is probably why we won the ICONIC AWARD in 2018!
